Slide #18: Testing Radio Antenna Boom Deployment, Mars Observer.


Once all of the Mars Observer 
instruments
were in place, they were tested to be certain that they 
functioned properly and could communicate with the onboard computers.  
Here, the boom that bears the Mars Observer radio antenna is 
shown after testing to see how it unfolds from the spacecraft launch 
configuration.
