• Sept. 3: 20th Anniversary of the Viking 2 Mars Landing in Utopia Planitia.

• Oct. 17-19: NSTA Regional Convention in Phoenix, AZ. Will feature "Mars Central," a dedicated series of space science workshops, a tour of planetary science facilities at ASU, and a tour of planetary geology features in northern Arizona. • Oct. 23-26: Division of Planetary Science, American Astronomical Society Meeting in Tucson, AZ. The DPS meeting features technical sessions on all the latest in planetary science. They are also planning K-12 events for Oct. 21-22 and a big public outreach display. • Nov. 11-22: Mars '96 (Russian mission) launch window. Launch from Baikonur, Kazakhstan. Reaches Mars in September 1997.

• Dec. 2-25: Mars Pathfinder launch window. Launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. Possible open-house at Arizona State University (Launch is at night). Will land on Mars July 4, 1997, with Sojourner microrover.
