The TES instrument is orbiting Mars aboard the Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) spacecraft
.
The THEMIS instrument is orbiting Mars aboard the
2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft . Launch occurred on April 7, 2001. The spacecraft arrived at Mars on October 23, 2001.
Here is a list of my publications.
My geological research concerns thermal emission spectroscopy and its
potential for mineral identification. The minerals I am studying
include oxides, carbonates,
and sulfates, phosphates, and chlorides.
To learn more about thermal infrared (vibrational) spectroscopy and how
the ASU TES lab is gearing their research toward understanding the surface composition
of Mars, visit the Thermal Emission Spectrometer (TES)
Home Page.
Launch occurred on November 7, 1996. The spacecraft arrived at Mars on
September 11, 1997.
